The Systems Sisterhood: Peer-to-Peer support for women of systems change who are in life transition
We joined forces with Tatiana Fraser of MetaLab to create The Systems Sanctuary- a platform for peer-to-peer communities of support for systems leaders. We have designed this program based on our own experience of co-leading systems change projects in the UK and Canada, as the support system we wished we'd had.
It is designed for the growing number of pioneers experimenting with systemic solutions to systemic problems. Solutions that will benefit people and planet.
What is The Systems Sanctuary?
It is a 7 month, peer to peer mentoring program designed for systems leaders to:
- Share their unique challenges
With a group who understand what they're talking about. They receive practical advice, ideas and feedback on a specific challenge they are facing and learn from challenges and answers of others.
- Learn new tools and techniques
Which can clarify and enrich their work; learn new tools, frameworks & techniques from peers who've actually used them.
- Build deep friendships
With like-minded peers and leave with a diverse network of systems change practitioners that will last long after the program has ended. Taking part feels inspiring, supportive and fun.
The Systems Sisterhood
Is our second program from The Systems Sanctuary. It launched in August 2018 and will conclude in March 2019. The Sisterhood is open to women of all ages and who are in life transition and who have been, or are beginning to work in, systems change.
The Systems Sisterhood is a place to find camaraderie and support for women working in systems change who are in a 'life transition'.
Transitions might include: leaving a big project or an organization you've been leading or starting a new leadership role; taking time out to look after children, or relatives; going through change at home; moving into elderhood; or simply feeling called to dig deeper into your sense of purpose.
This will be a place for a collective inquiry about the challenges and possibilities that emerge for women systems leaders. Themes we've spotted include dealing with power, negotiating family balance, emerging wisdom and new leadership styles.
We will: dig into big questions about life priorities; share practices to support embracing the unknown and emergence; and reflect on how we navigate big changes in our work and lives.
This will be an inter-generational program that allows for mentoring from those at different stages of life. We will dedicate one of the four groups in the cohort to explore women and wisdom.
You will leave with an international network of amazing women working in your field to lean on, for whatever comes next
